    algebra problem

    Question

    In a cuboid the length is twice the width and the height is twice the length. if the Volume is 64 Cm3, what is the width?

    Simplyfied working would be apprecaited as I have to explain to 10 year old.

    I know the answer is 2 but need to show a mathematical calculation

    Let L be the length, l - the width, h - the heigth.
    Then, L=2l, \ h=2L\Rightarrow h=4l
    V=L\cdot l\cdot h=2l\cdot l\cdot 4l=8l^3=64\Rightarrow l^3=8\Rightarrow l=2
