1. Help With An Algebra Multiplying Rational Expressions Problem?

Multiply. Simplify the product.

-2n 7n+7
------- x -----------
7(n+2) n+1

I'm having trouble typing the fraction so, i'll say it in words.
-2n over 7(n+2) times 72+7 over n+1

2. Is there a typo on your end.

It should be -2n over 7(n+2) times 7n+7 over n+1 right ?

Then this should be the way to do it.

-2n/7(n+2) x (7n+7)/n+1
-2n/7n+14 x (7n+7)/n+1
-2n(7n+7)/(7n+14)(n+1)
-14n^2-14n/(7n+14)(n+1)
-14n(n+1)/(7n+14)(n+1)
-14n/(7n+14)

3. Hello, alicec4ever!

We are supposed to factor and reduce . . . then multiply.

Multiply: . $\frac{-2n}{7(n+2)} \cdot \frac{7n+7}{n+1}$

Factor: . $\frac{-2n}{7(n+2)}\cdot\frac{7(n+1)}{n+1}$

Reduce: . $\frac{-2n}{{\color{red}\rlap{/}}7(n+2)}\cdot\frac{{\color{red}\rlap{/}}7{\color{blue}\rlap{//////}}(n+1)}{{\color{blue}\rlap{/////}}n+1}$

and we have: . $\frac{-2n}{n+2}$

-14n^2-14n/(7n+14)(n+1)
-14n(n+1)/(7n+14)(n+1)
-14n/(7n+14)
ya, i put 72+7 over n+1, i meant 7n+7
