Math Help - To find the power?

    To find the power?

    Hey, my first post here...

    I have a small problem. I have managed to get : 0.91 = 0.131577922^alpha in a question. I am looking for find the value of alpha... anyone able to help?

    If so, any chacen you can show how i can find such a power?

    I tried using simple lettter, x = y^n, and using logs, still not able to get answers... Maybe i just went wrong somwhwere...

    Please help...

    Hi

    If you know logs you can use this

    log(x^\alpha) = \alpha\, log(x)

    0.131577922^\alpha = 0.91

    log(0.131577922^\alpha) = log(0.91)

    \alpha\, log(0.131577922) = log(0.91)

    \alpha = \frac{log(0.91)}{log(0.131577922)}

    \alpha = 0.0465
