some math questions
I'm not too good at math at all I need help with these three problems any feedback or help will be greatly appreciated

1)108 divided by (6/7) 2nd power + 180 divided by (3/5) 2nd power

2) Find the base of a triangle with area 114 square inches and height 12 inches

3) 15q/16 x 8/30q multiply simplify if possible

These are the last three problems on my assignment...any help is greatly appreciated thank you

1.) 108/[(6/7)^2] + 180/[(3/5)^2], is that what you're referring to?

(6/7)^2 = 36/49;
108/(36/49) = 147 (bring the 49 to the numberor and multiply it to get 5292, then divide by 49)

+

(3/5)^2 = 9/25;
180/(9/25) = 500

So: 147 + 500 = 647.

Area of a triangle = (1/2)*b*h.

You're given that the area = 114, and you're given the height. Solve for the base.

114 = (1/2)*b*12

114 = 6*b

Divide both sides by 6:

19 = b

Therefore, the base is 19 inches.

Be careful with parentheses; I am assuming you mean the following:

(15q)/16 * 8/(30q)

The 15q and the 30q cancel, and you obtain:

(15q is one half of 30q).

1/16*8/2 = 1/4.

(You could have even simplified it further by reducing the 8 and the 16 to a 1/2 ratio, which would have made the multiplication slightly easier: so you would have had 1/2*1/2 = 1/4).

I will assume that 1 and 3 mean what is shown in the attachment.

1. Take the first term:

.......................108.........108x7^2......108
108/(6/7)^2 = -------- = ---------- = ----- x 7^2 = 3x7^2 = 3x7x7 = 147
.....................(6/7)^2........6^2.........6x6

Now take the second term:

.......................180.........180x5^2......180
180/(3/5)^2 = -------- = ---------- = ------ x 5^2 = 20x5^2 = 20x5x5 = 500
.....................(3/5)^2.........3^2........3x3

So:

108/(6/7)^2 + 180/(3/5)^2 = 147 + 500 = 647
