This is probably easy but how do you solve this?
x*4 - 7x*2 + 4 = 0

i suppose you mean $\displaystyle x^4 - 7x^2 + 4 = 0$?
Here's a hint: note that this is the same as $\displaystyle (x^2)^2 - 7(x^2) + 4 = 0$
now let $\displaystyle y = x^2$, then we have
$\displaystyle y^2 - 7y + 4 = 0$
this is a quadratic equation, which is easier for you to solve (hopefully). now find y. when you do, you can find x
