hey i got a test today and i dont know how to do these 2 problems:

$5^(2x) - 6(5)^x + 5 = 0$

AWNSER: x = 1 or 0

$2log(base4)(x+1) - log(base4)(2x-3) = 2$

AWNSER: x = 28.3 or 1.7

That ugly expression is a quadratic.

It factors! . . $(5^x - 1)(5^x-5) \:=\:0$

So we have: . $\begin{array}{ccccc}5^x-1\:=\:0 & \Rightarrow & 5^x\:=\:1 &\Rightarrow& \boxed{x \:=\:0} \\ \\[-3mm]
