Two of Random Maths on algebra
I know these questions are basic but as I havent had a Maths lesson for about 3-4 months I obviously dont remember a great deal.

1. I have some homework that is about Factorising. Basically the question I have is about solving the equation 'f(x)=0'

Say I have the equation

x²-3x+1

(x isnt muliply)

How would I do it, I recognize the f(x)-0 but cant remember exactly what to do.

2. I have a question on my homework that is 'Complete the table of Values for the expression x²+x-2:'
I then have a box that has: x, -2, -1, 0, 1 and 2 in seperate column and then an empty space in each row for an equation. In the space under 'x' thre is an equation:
'x²+x-2'

I dont get what exactly I have to do.

For question 2:

You have to plug-in every value of x into equation that is given and solve that equation for that x.

This is table you need to do:

Do you mean to solve for example x²-3x+1 = 0?

x²-3x+1
.

You are given,
f(x)=x²-3x+1
And you need to solve f(x)=0 (called "finding zeros").
Thus,
x²-3x+1=0
