i just need someone to show me maybe one example of how to solve a problem like

x+5/x+3=8

or

1+1/x=6/x^2

3. im sorry i posted the problem incorrectly

its

(x+5)/(x+3)=8

x plus 5 over x plus 3 equals 8, solve for x

4. (x + 5) / (x + 3) = 8 {multiply both sides by (x + 3)}
x + 5 = 8x + 24 {Rearrange}
7x = -19
x = -19/7 as a fraction

Or at least to my knowledge. It works anyway
