    Please help- Quadratics

    Find the possible values of k-

    k^4-k^2-12=0

    Use the substitution y = k^2. Your equation becomes:

    y^2-y-12=0

    Solve for y.
    Re-substitute and solve for k.

    (For the records: If you are looking for real values I've got k = -2 or k = 2)
