    2 + [3x-4] with x=2.2 is 2 + [3*2.2-4] = 2 + [6.6-4] = 2 + [2.6] = 4.6.

    2 + [3x-4] = 5
    2 + 3x - 4 = 5
    3x - 2 = 5
    3x = 7
    x = 7/3
