2 step equation word problem
Hi, having problems helping daughter with this one.

Populations Georgia's Native-American population is 10,000 greater than Mississippi's. Mississippi's Native American population is 106,000 less than Texas'. If the total population of all three is 149,000, find each state's Native-American population. (Headbang)

Ok, so we start off with all 3 equaling 149,000.
so, x+y+z=149,000.
Let x =Georgia
So, x=y+10,000 where y =Mississippi
y=z-106,000 where z = Texas
x=z-96000
Now plug into original equation and solve for z

z-96000+z-106000+z=149000
3z-202,000=149,000
3z=351,000
z=117,000

Now plug in this value to the y equation.
y=117000-106000
Once you get y, just plug into x equation.

So, Texas should be 117,000
Missippi =11,000
Georgia =21,000
