$\displaystyle x^3+x^2+6x-8-4-12$

$\displaystyle x^3+x^2+6x-24$

To find the average cost per unit, divide total dollars by number of units.

Average cost per unit = $\displaystyle \frac{0.03x^2+4x+1000}{x}$

It would be for me. However, you could write the quotient like this:

Average cost per unit = $\displaystyle 0.03x+4 +\frac{1000}{x}$
