Thread: graph and plot it ?

I recently asked for help with graphing liner equations. I needed 3 order pair solutions. the answer to my question was 0,-3 2,-2 4,-1. now that we know the answer can you please show me how to graph and plot it ? explain in as much detail as possable. thanks for the help

first plot your points on a graph.
Then connect them.

thanks for the help. if i am doing a different problem how do i determain where each of the 3 numbers should go on the graph

Just choose any three x values and work out the corresponding y values

x = 0 and x = 1 are usually good choices

I'd go with x = 3 for the third

Technically the third one is not needed to draw the line but it is useful to do as it checks your first two. If all three points aren't on a line then you have made a mistake
