    Algebraic Method

    Solve the following system of equations using an algerbraic method. Check your answer.

    3x=-12
    1=x+y+2z
    2x-y=-9

    How would someone go about doing this

    Are you intending on isolationg the variables or solving to see where they intersect?

    Solve the first equation for x. That should be easy.

    Substitute that value into the 3rd equation and solve for y. That shoudl be easy, too.

    Finally, substitute x and y values in 2nd equation to find z.

    Finished!

    3x=-12
    x=-12/3
    x=-4

    2(-4)-y=-9
    -8-y=-9
    -y=-9+8
    -y=-1
    y=-1/-1
    y=1

    1=-4+1+2z
    1+4-1=2z
    4=2z
    4/2=z
    z=2
