Thread: A Whole Bunch Of Factoring...Help

Guys if you could just help me with any of these problems it would greatly be appreciated..I just can't seem to get factoring..thanks again

1. Factor completely: 4u^2-7u-28u+49 ANSWERED

2. Solve: 2v^2=5v+3

3. Factor by grouping: 2s^2+7s+5

4. Factor the trinomial: 3w^2-39w+108

5. Factor: 50w^2+20w+2

6. Factor the trinomial: 42a^2-13a-42

7. Solve: 6w^2=7w

8. Solve the equation: 49s^2+84s=-36

9. Solve: a^2=35-2a

10. Solve the equation for a: 5a^2+39a+54=0

11. Factor by grouping: 6c^2-19c+10

12. Factor by grouping: 4+7xy-14y-2x

13. Factor by grouping: 4u^2+9u-28

Once again ANY help would be greatly appreciated..I know its alot and I apologize but this topic is NOT my cup of tea

2. -2x^2+5v+3 = (-2x+1)(x+3)

I don't mean to be taking advantage but it's just with factoring I get so lost..I could do the basics..for example x^2-2x-3 I know the answer is (x-9)(x+7) ..But when theres a number in front of the first X I get so confused..and then with grouping I know I have to factor out the GCF (right?) But sometimes I get stuck somewhere and It's very frustrating because I do not know where I got stuck

A) (u-7)(4u-7) --> u=7 or u=7/4
2) (v-3)(2v-1)=0 --> v=3 or v=1/2
3) (s+5)(2s+1)
4) (w-9)(3w-12)
5) (5w+1)(10w+2)
6) (7a+6)(6a-7)
7) w(6w-7)=0 --> w=0 or w=7/6
8) (7s+6)^2=0 --> s= -6/7 (two equal roots)
9) (a-5)(a+7)=0 --> a=5 or a=-7
T) (a+6)(5a+9)=0 --> a=-6 or a=-9/5

OMG thank you so much..lifesaver lol ..1 question though..#8..it asks for a solution..would it be (7s+6)^2?
