Some quick questions
Work out the values of "m" and "n"

a) 5 8x5 4 = 5 m
DAM the superscript didnt work. The numbers that look in bold are powers.

b) I couldnt do this one without using that LaTeX thing, which I dont know how to use anyway, so I used paint! (Rofl)(Rofl)(Rofl)
It looks stupid I know, but it gets the job done.

Thanks.

Use the following rule :

$\frac{a^b}{a^c}=a^{b-c}$ (Wink)

Hmmm i didn't understand there were two questions ><

No, first one : $a^b \times a^c=a^{b+c}$

second one : $\frac{a^b}{a^c}=a^{b-c}$

(click on the pictures to see the latex code :))

Angel
Angel (Best Solution)
58 x 54 = 5m
5 8+4 = 5 m (if the base is same and values are multiplying, then we add the powers)
512 = 5 m
So compare power with power and base with base

m=12

58 / 54 = 5m

58-4 = 5 n (if the base is same and values are dividing, then we minus the powers)

54 = 5 n

So compare power with power and base with base
n=4
