    this is my answer: (2+i√5)/2

    is it the same thing as (4+√20 i)/4

    *note* the "i" is outside the radical sign.

    yes, they are same

    \frac{4+i \sqrt{20}}{4}

    =\frac{4+i \sqrt{4 \times 5}}{4}

    = \frac{4+2i\sqrt{5}}{4}

    = \frac{2(2+i\sqrt{5})}{4}

    = \frac{2+i\sqrt{5}}{2}

    Did you get it now ???

    no, the "i" is to the right of the radical, not left. I know its supposed to be to the left, but that is what the answer choice says on my worksheet.
