r = 87 mph -- but you need feet:

87 mph * 5280 ft/mile = 459360 fph -- but you need seconds:

459360 fph / 60 min / 60 sec = 127.6 ft/sec is your rate

d = 127.6 * 12 = 1531.2 ft traveled

Since, 1 mile = 1.609 km

1km = 1000 m
1 h = 60 min = 60.60 s = 3600 s

1 feet = 30.48 cm = 0.3048 m

$Speed = 85 m/h = (85)(1.609) km/h= \frac{85\times 1.609 \times 1000\;m}{3600\;s}=37.99 \;m/s$

$Distance = speed . time = (37.99)(12)=455.88\;m= \frac{455.88}{0.3048}\;feet=1495.67\;feet$
