Let number of 5 cents coins = x

let the number of 10 cents coins = x

total coins, x + y = 18

total money, 0.05x + 0.10y = 3.60

Now, solve these equations to get number of coins of each type. - October 22nd 2008, 12:47 PMjaydee323
If 10 cents is the largest coin and he has 18 coins then the most he can have is $1.80 !
