$5\cdot x + 10 = 8 \cdot x + 32$
$-22 = 3 \cdot x$
$\frac{-22}{3} = x$

(4) (1/4) (x+4) = (2/5) (x+2) (4) multiply both sides to get rid of 1/4
(X+4) = (8/5) (x+2)
(5) (x+4) = (8/5) (x+2) (5) multiply both sides to get rid of 5 in denominator
5x+20 = 8(x+2)
5x + 20 = 8x +16 subtract 5x from both sides
20 = 8x - 5x + 16
20 - 16 = 3x subtract 16 from both sides
4 = 3x
4/3 = x divide both sides by 3
