I have a few problems like the following to solve. What is the best method to use? -5x/6 -8 = -18 The -5x is the numerator and 6 is the denominator followed by a minus 8 equal to minus 18. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. $\displaystyle -\frac{5x}{6}-8=-18$ Multiply each term by 6 to eliminate the fraction. $\displaystyle -5x-48=-108$ Add 48 to both sides $\displaystyle -5x=-60$ Finally, divide by -5 $\displaystyle x=12$
