A dynamics cart carrying a black 10.0 cm strip accelerates uniformly and passes through two photogates. The time for the strip through the first photogate, Time in Gate1, is 0.250 s and through the second photogate, Time in Gate2, is 0.180 s.

The average velocity of the cart as the stripe passes through the first photogate is:

Velocity is m/s.

So if the 10 cm strip took 0.25 seconds, how many meters can the strip travel in 1 second? probably 4 times as much? So this will be the average velocity. And this will need to be expressed as m, not cm!
