    polynomials

      1. Simplify the following.


    a. ) f(x) = (x+3)2 - (2x+1)(3x-2)
    b. ) f(x) = (4x-1) 2 - 5 (3x+7)(3x-7)

    a. ) f(x) = (x+3)^2 - (2x+1)(3x-2)

    f(x) = (x+3)(x+3)-(2x+1)(3x-2)

    = x^2+3x+3x+9-(6x^2-4x+3x-2)

    =x^2+6x+9-6x^2+x+2

    f(x)=-5x^2+7x+11

    now, you try second part. Did you get it, now???
