Need help with 6th grade sons homework...please...Insert grouping symbols to make each statement true.
18 + 2 x 1 + 3^2 = 38
4 x 2 - 2^2 / 9 + 2 = 6
3^3 - 9 x 2 + 1 = 8
2^3 -3 x 5 - 8 = 1
35 + 4^2 - 6 - 3 = 48
6 x 7 - 3 x 4 + 1 = 27
Thanks!!!!!!!!!

I just looked at it.. I guess too much math isn't always a bad thing. I used to play a similar game for fun called 24, where you flip up 4 random playing cards and try to make 24 from them. Each card has value equal to their strength (K=13, Q=12.....2=2, A=1), using only the standard operations.
You can easily rule out some of the possiblities, since it would make it impossible to match the other side (2^-1 or 2^8 doesn't help), then just figure out the numbers you need to make it true.
