# Math Help - Simplifying

1. ## Simplifying

I came up with this while conducting a phsyics thing and I need help simplifying it...if it can at all be simplified.

$\frac{\lfloor{\frac{1}{x}\rfloor}}{2}+\frac{2^{x-2}}{3^{x-1}}\bigg\lceil{1-\frac{1}{x}\bigg\rceil}$

2. Is x positive or negative ?

Try to consider |x|<1 and |x|>1 separately... ? Maybe it would help ?

Yeah on the positive integers it reduced to

$f(x)={{\frac{1}{2}\quad\text{if }x=1}\brace{\frac{2^{x-2}}{3^{x-2}}}\quad\text{if }x\in\mathbb{Z^+}\ne{1}}$
