in the second equation, you have an expression in y for x. it means you can replace x with 2y in the first equation and then you can solve for y. once you have y you can solve for x

plug 2y in for x

10(2y) + 25y =750
20y + 25y =750
45y = 750
divide both side by 45
that gives you y=
now plug whatever y is into the original eqn and you now have x
