1. ## Algebra Review for Test

I found this question written in the challenge section of my algebra book.

It is given in words. I must write it as an equation and then solve for s.

-3 over 4 S - 3 = 1 over 3 S + 1 over 4

Here is my set up:

-3/(4s - 3) = 1/(3s) + 1/4

After doing the algebra, I get s = 21/64 but is this right?

Can anybody do this problem and find the correct answer?

I added the right side of the fractional equation first and then cross-multiplied to find s.

If I'm solving for s in $-\frac{3}{4s-3}=\frac{1}{3s}+\frac 14$ I find very complicated solutions !

The most accurate version of the equation may be $\frac{-3}{4s}-3=\frac{1}{3s}+\frac 14$
(There is a unique and simple solution )
