Hello

Do you know how to solve linear systems of equations?

If we let a = adult, and s = student, we see that the total number of adults and students that attended the school play was 550. This implies that $a+s=550$.

The adult paid $12 and the student paid$8. The total amount made in ticket sales was \$4980. This means that $12a+8s=4980$

So we have the system of equations : $\left\{\begin{array}{rcrcr}a&+&s&=&550\\12a&+&8s&= &4980\end{array}\right.$

Can you take it from here?
