Ok so my brain has totally given up I need to rearrange the formula S= SqrtGD so the G is the subject.......How do I do this?

Is this what you have written?

$S=\sqrt{GD}$

If so, simply square both sides to eliminate the radical. Then divide both sides by D.

That seems ridiculously simple....So its ok just to Square it all I don't have to do anything more complex?

This is true.

$S=\sqrt{GD}$

$S^2=GD$

$\frac{S^2}{D}=G$
