    Inequality

    Im lost as what to do on this one...and the graph I am shown does have the answer i come up with which is for the left half x<0 and the second half x<-4
    Solve the inequality and graph the solution set. I have to write this as a solution set as well.

    4x-3 < -3 and -2x+6>14

    If you are to graph the solution set, you would simply use a number line. Locate -4, circle it, then shade all points to the left. See diagram. You have a compound inequality, a conjunction in which both solutions have to be true at the same time. The only way that can happen is for the solution to be all values of x < -4. This also satisfies x < 0.

    Solution set = {x|x < -4}
