This has been melting my brain for a while..... any help? Or the answer lol.

q = 5 x 10 to the power of 23 and r = 2 x 10 to the power of negative 44. Whats qr?

5 * 10^23 * 2 ^ 10^-44 = 10 * 10 ^(23-44) = 10^-20.
Hardly brain-melting unless you've scored some good stuff?

$q=5\times 10^{23}$
$r=2\times 10^{-44}$

You can first multiply the coefficients together, and then combined the exponents, since they have the same base.

Therefore, $q\times r=5\cdot10^{23}\times 2\cdot10^{-44}=10\times 10^{23-44}=\dots$

Try to take it from here.
