    1. f(x) = k(x+1)^3 (x-3)^2 where k is some constant ...

    f(-2) = 50 = k(-2+1)^3(-2-3)^2

    solve for k.

    2. a. x^4 - 13x^2 + 36 = (x^2 - 9)(x^2 - 4)
    finish.

    b. 6x^5 - 7x^3 - 3x = x(6x^4 - 7x^2 - 3) = x(2x^2-3)(3x^2+1)
    finish.
