    Hello, juliak!

    It's quite straight-forward.
    . . Exactly where is your difficulty?

    How can I factorise this equation? . 2x^2+17x\:=\:9

    Get all terms on the left: . 2x^2 + 17x - 9 \:=\:0

    Then factor: . (2x-1)(x + 9) \;=\;0
