    algebra precent problem

    1.) 25% of a number is less than 18% of 650 by 19. what is the number?

    2.) If the bases of two similar triangles are in the ratio of 2:3, then is what ratio are their ares?

    1) .25x + 19 = .18(650)

    2) If two similar triangles have a scale factor of \frac{a}{b}, then the ratio of their areas is \frac{a^2}{b^2}.

    \frac{A_1}{A_2}=\frac{2^2}{3^2}=\frac{4}{9}
