Thread: Find the soulution set for each inequality...Help Please!

3(12 - x) - 2 < 28

The answer i got was x < 30 over 36...Is this correct?

You have to carefully move things from one side to the other, you start with:



1. Add 2 to both sides:



2. Divide both sides by 3:



3. Subtract 12 from both sides:



Now, here's the hard part:

4. Divide both sides by -1 and FLIP the less than or equal symbol to be greater than or equal to. Whenever you divide or multiply by a negative number, you flip the inequality:



And that's your answer.
