    inverse functions

    Im stuck on this problem.
    Find the inverse function .

    I know that y-4= sq root of t and now im stuck

    y = \sqrt{t} + 4

    swap variables ...

    t = \sqrt{y} + 4

    solve for y ...

    t - 4 = \sqrt{y}

    (t-4)^2 = y

    have you learned about restricted domains for an inverse?

    if not, don't worry about it now.
