    Solving simultaneous equations

    i need help with the following question

    solve for x and y

    Y = 3X - 7
    Y = 2x +8

    it is urgent so please help

    (Assuming that X=x,) from 3X-7=2X+8 you get X.
    Substituting, you also get Y.

    To see the math work by setting Y equations equal to each other, go here:

    1 unknown variable equations

    Enter your equations and see the math.

    Also, if 2 unknowns can be solved by Substitution, Elimination, or Cramer's method, but in this case, the above method is the best since both Y coefficients equal each other.
