    applied number

    A meat pie containes 15% or 30 g of fat. What is the weight of the pie. Please help. I'm having a mental blank. Please give explanation

    15% of the pie is fat.

    So 15% of the weight of the pie is 30g.

    Letting w = weight and using 15% = 15/100 we get

    15w/100 = 30

    15w = 3000

    w = 200g.
