Can't figure out how to set this one up. ANy help is greatly appreciated.
$\displaystyle (5x^2-15x-11)/((x+1)*(x-2)^3)$
I assume the difficulty is with the repeated factor in the denominator. In this situation you need a fraction for each power of the factor up to the power in the original denominator. So in this case we get
$\displaystyle \frac{5x^2-15x-11}{(x+1)(x+2)^3} = \frac{A}{x+1}+\frac{B}{x+2}+\frac{C}{(x+2)^2}+\fra c{D}{(x+2)^3}$
