I am new a homeschooling mum and I am trying to get my head around the steps for doing algebra questions

can anyone help me with the steps for this one
11x-7=10x+6

I know the answer but I dont know the steps to get to it.

11x-7=10x+6
11x-10x=6+7
x=13 is the answer
