if i have x^3 over 3 and i substitute in 1 what do i get does is the whole fraction cubed.

Also how do i polynomially divide 3x^3+ 11/4 x^2 - 1/2 x - 1/4 divided by x+1
I just need to get the quadratic equation i cant get the last number it might be an algebra mistake but i cant find it.

For clarification above 11/4 x^2 is eleven fourths x squared.
