okay i got a question for homework that says:

5 ounces is what part of a pound? (There are 6 ounces in a pound)

what would the answer to this be? wouldn't it be 31.25%, that's what I thought but it isn't a choice.

5ounces is what part of 6 ounces

$\displaystyle \frac{5}{6}=.83333... = 83.3$%

as a quick check you know that 5 is more than half of 6 so 31.25% sohould not make sense as it is less than 50% which is half. - Jun 13th 2005, 06:55 PMhpeQuote:
