    Perform the indicated operations. Write the answer in lowest terms.

    x2-4x-21 x2-7x x+3
    ______ x _______ (divided by) _____
    7x x2-14x+49 x+7


    I'm pretty sure this has something to do with cross-multiplication and elimination but I am not completely sure. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

    I assume that you mean:

    \frac{x^2-4x-21}{7x} \cdot \frac{x^2-7x}{x^2-14x+49} \div \frac{x+3}{x-7} .......... Factor the numerator respectively the denominator:

    \frac{(x-7)(x+3)}{7x} \cdot \frac{x(x-7)}{(x-7)^2} \cdot \frac{x-7}{x+3} = \boxed{\frac{x-7}{7}}
