    Factoring a fraction?

    I've forgotten, but just how do you factor a fraction like this one?

    x+3
    --- +2
    x-5

    Thanks for any help. . . I'm trying to rush through a pile of sub-chapters before taking a quiz tomorrow nite

    When you mean factor a fraction, are you saying put it in simplified form because if you are then it would be this:

    \frac{x+3}{x-5} + 2

    \frac{(x+3) + 2(x-5)}{x-5}

    \frac{x+3 + 2x-10}{x-5}

    \frac{3x-7}{x-5}
