arithmatic problem
The distance between two places is 33/4 km.If two person starts towards opposite direction they will meet each other after 1 hr but if they go towards the same direction they require 11 hr to meet each other .Find the velocities of the two person?

Let $v_1, v_2$ denote the velocities of the 2 persons.

Then you know:

$\frac{8.25}{v_1+v_2} = 1$

$11 \cdot v_1-11 \cdot v_2=8.25~\implies~v_1=v_2+\frac34$

Sub in the term of $v_1$ into the first equation and solve for $v_2$.

I've got:

$v_1 = 4.5\ \frac{km}{h}~,~ v_2 = 3.75\ \frac{km}{h}$
