for the first question, start by flipping bot sides upside down. then you will have a 16 dividing the n. we want n by itself, so we have to do the opposite operation the 16 is doing on both sides. that is, we must now multiply both sides by 16. tell us what you get

for the second, multiply both sides by 18 and simplify. what do you get? why do we multiply by 18?

the third question is just like the first. try it. what do you get?

for the last, i don't want to judge, the ruler shown does not allow us to measure accurately i think. is it drawn to scale. you can use a regular ruler to measure the kitchen. whatever answer you get in inches, multiply it by 8 and change the units to feet. that will give you the actual dimensions

3. haha, they are being graded. my child is taking an online class and asked me for some help. i just wanted to make sure i had the correct answers before i attempted to help her.

that's all well and good. but it would still be academically dishonest to do the problems for you and give you answers. try the problems. ask any questions you need to. you can learn so that you are better able to teach her how to do it. the time will come when she has to do it without your help. you should know what to tell her to figure out these problems. try the problems and tell us what you get, or ask specific questions (other than the ones posted of course )

5. You might find the rule of cross-multiplication helpful. If you have

$\frac{A}{B} = \frac{C}{D}$

then you may rewrite the equation as

$A \times D = B \times C$

6. That the simplest thing I've ever met in my life, man!
