    7. [(y-1) / y^2 - 3y - 10)] - [(2y)/ y^2 + 2y - 35)]

    8. [(5/3c) + 7/ 2v)] / [(c/6) - (3/cv)]

    Your grouping symbols have me a bit confused. Do I have it right:

    7. \frac{y-1}{y^2-3y-10}-\frac{2y}{y^2+2y-35}

    8. \frac{\frac{5}{3c}+\frac{7}{2v}}{\frac{c}{6}-\frac{3}{cv}}

    For the first one, notice that y^2-3y-10=(y-5)(y+2) and y^2+2y-35=(y+7)(y-5)

    Therefore, the least common multiple of the denominator is (y-5)(y+7)(y+2)

    Does it help you go through the problem a little more ?
