    x^3 +2x^2 -3x

    Rule number one, look for something that every term has.
    In this case, it's x.

    So factor it out: x(x^2 + 2x - 3)

    Now let's focus on: x^2 + 2x - 3

    We know it's gonna be: (x + something)(x - something)

    So, what are two numbers that multiply to give -3 and add up to 2?

    Those are 3 and -1

    So it'll factor as: (x + 3)(x - 1)

    And the final factored form is: \boxed{x(x + 3)(x - 1)}
