There will be more between (1) and (2).

When in doubt, put parentheses during work.

= (2 x 10) - (3 x 2) + (12 ÷ 2)

= 20 - 6 + 6

= 20

By the way,*****is multiply,**/**is divide. - April 11th 2005, 02:18 PMEvan
An easy way to remember the Order of Operations is:

PEMDAS = Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally or Please End My Day At School

P -- Parentheses

E -- Exponents

M -- Multiply &

D -- Divide

A -- Add &

S -- Subtract
