    If you are asking \frac{4}{a+2}-\frac{5}{a+2}

    Factor out the a+2 to get \frac{1}{a+2}\bigg[4-5\bigg]=\frac{1}{a+2}[-1]=\frac{-1}{a+2}

    Assuming, as above, that it is \frac{4}{a+2}-\frac{5}{a+2}, perform the subtraction just like you always do once you have fractions with common denominators - simply subtract the numerator and leave the denominator as is.

    Since 4 - 5 = -1, your answer is \frac{-1}{a+2}. No factoring required.
